Merry Christmas!

We have just returned from church and other festivities on Christmas Eve. It has been a hectic day, but I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Ya Gotta Love the Wintertime!

I am currently sitting in the house, pondering my trip to Mom's to make cookies. It is currently -10 outside, with a possible high of 9 degrees today. We have some blowing snow and wind, but it is too darn cold! Last weekend, after a small snowstorm, we did a little sledding and made a snowman here in town. What a difference a week makes!

(This picture is from sledding last weekend.)

Christmas is in the air!

Okay, we finally got some snow here in Cheyenne to make it feel like Christmas. It was the sparkly kind too - not very wet, so I don't plan on throwing a snowball at Wayne anytime soon. Wayne did get to use his super duper snow blower with this storm, while I slipped and slided all over town. But I have to ask - is it too much to ask for a snow day??

Now it is time for Christmas!

The family had a great Thanksgiving - even having a chance to stay up late and play Wii at Dana and Greg's house. It seems that Wayne is pretty good at the shooting games (go figure) and Aspen likes the balance games. I am not the best at balance, but found hoola hooping fun (probably since it is a lot like belly dance!). I am currently fighting the crud, so I didn't go too crazy with after Thanksgiving shopping. In fact, I didn't leave the house today. We were going to hit the Christmas parade but I was not up for it. Hopefully this will clear up soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! We have so many things to be thankful for at our house, and hope that you have many things to be thankful for too!

Belly dance crazy!

Thursday nights are for belly dancing. Okay, maybe Wayne doesn't participate, but Aspen likes to! I have learning all the cool things about different belly dance moves and I am really having a great time! Aspen likes to dance with veils, which we say is "dancing like a butterfly." Aspen even picked out her own fabric for her veil. I have been working on costuming, and getting a little at a time. Wayne and I are going to a big Halloween party next week so I will wear my new costume (maybe breaking a few belly dance rules there). Check back for pictures!

Ahhh, Business

I have been working frantically to make our new office space a reality. Man, I think I will need a tropical vacation after this. Luckily, we will be moving to an office upstairs from our current location. Right now, I am struggling to get the construction done in the office before the new frame displays arrive. I also have a new software system to learn and implement. Plus, Wayne is heading out this weekend for elk hunting!

Hunting Widow

It has been pretty hectic around here... back to school work, getting the office ready to move, getting ready for hunting camp, etc. Haven't had a chance to sit and think! I am in the middle of Wayne's two week archery elk camp. As usual, it is a little more stressful being a "hunting widow" - getting Aspen to and from school, running the office, getting groceries and gas, the usual. I just don't have enough hours in the day, and miss Wayne's help. Of course, he has no signal, didn't even bother to call when he had access to a land line, and really could care less. Aspen asks every day when he is coming home, and yet it is hard to answer, because he will be turning around and going again the next weekend! I am looking into my vacation getaways - last year I didn't take Wayne up on his offer to go somewhere, this year I gotta do it before I lose my mind!

Cheyenne Frontier Days

Here is Aspen's face painting from Thursday's rodeo. It was "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" Day, where folks wore pink to raise breast cancer awareness. It was a great time, hot as hell, but a great day watching cowboys put on a show. We all like to watch bull riding, the wild horse race, and trick riders. Aspen thinks the barrel racers (all women) are cool too. At least she didn't ask for a horse this year!

Wyoming Summers

This is a picture from a recent camping trip this summer. Aspen is with her friend Kaitlyn riding around the Pole Mountain area. We haven't had a chance to do much camping, between vacation, shooting, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and work. It won't be too much longer and the camper will move to elk camp - and Wayne will too!

Helllllo There!

Okay, we are finally getting the Cotton's started on a blog, since there are so many folks we try to stay in touch with and so many great adventures to share. We look forward to hearing from you!
